The challenge

As a major venture with luxury positioning, Lovemore Sports seeks elevation and sophistication at every turn, and approached me to help ensure this level of design quality of consistency could be easily achieved and maintained across digital and print experiences.

The solution

Full scope creative direction, design concept and implementation, across multiple touch points: Lovemore Sports website, social media design, various pitch deck templating, and branding for Lovemore Studios, a premium consultancy sprung from Lovemore Sports redefining athlete personal branding at the intersection of sports, culture & entertainment.

The main project we tackled together was website design: helping Lovemore Sports relaunch itself digitally with a clean, minimalist website which embodies its values and proudly showcases a stellar athlete roster. As part of this project, I helped Lovemore Sports identify key opportunities with a competitor analysis.

A webpage moodboard featuring three website previews with descriptions. The first shows a teal Porsche Cayenne Electric with bold text, the second depicts a person cycling outdoors with a cheerful expression, and the third displays a close-up of a Richard Mille watch with intricate gears.
A digital moodboard with three website screenshots and descriptive text. The first shows a website for YMU with images of diverse confident individuals, the second is a website for Freegame Management with a black and white hockey player, and the third features a case study of Siglap House, Singapore, with a modern building image. Below each, there are descriptions of design features, fonts, and layout details.
A collage of webpage screenshots featuring a sports brand campaign. Includes images of athletes, team members, and product collaborations with text about their work, partnerships, and athlete highlights.

In addition to seamlessly clean UI across web and digital, an important part of the puzzle is telling the stories of each athlete – such as Cody Gakpo going back to his roots in Togo – with bold and confident editorial layouts.

A group of young soccer players and a man in casual clothing gathered together outside in front of a red wall, some wearing Liverpool jerseys.
A soccer player in a blue Chelsea jersey celebrating a goal, with a large 'GOAL' overlay on the image and the lovemoresports logo in the top left corner.
A man in a beige suit and green shirt sitting in a vintage car, with an overlay text announcing Cody Gakpo as a Bentley ambassador.

A birthday greeting image featuring a smiling man wearing a white sweater and a gold watch, with "Happy Birthday Cody" text, and the logo of Lovemoresports at the top and LS at the bottom.

Templated brand documents are more than just a convenience – they’re a structural backbone for consistency and professionalism. One part of my ongoing relationship with Lovemore Sports is helping maintain consistency in design quality through various pitch presentations.

As part of the project, I shared multiple directions for the brand identity, which all interpreted the client’s vision in unique ways and which would still work to make an impact within the industry.

Design takeaways

  • An exercise in personal branding: helping to shape an athlete’s identity. When you design for athletes, you’re not just creating posts, you’re building a public image. This is something I enjoy most about working with Lovemore Sports: the opportunity to learn more about athletes, their passions and motivations in their careers, and potential overlap with branding and design.

  • Design consistency for a long-standing client. I have been working with Sol Lovemore, founder of Lovemore Sports, for many years now. As a trusted client, I always appreciate his feedback and support bringing my creative vision into a wide scope of projects – from digital design (web UI) through to social media content creation – ensuring a consistent premium look & feel is maintained.
