Obrizum
A leader in adaptive e-learning headquartered in Cambridge. The software company provides detailed AI-powered analytics, helping organisations drive sustainable improvements.
The challenge
Obrizum works with many clients who need e-learning material adapted to their unique brands. The challenge is therefore reinterpreting clients’ brand guidelines into easy-to-digest and engaging educational content – from digital reading bites to corporate presentations.
The solution
I have been working with Obrizum since 2022 on a variety of client-facing projects, spanning many sectors: education, finance and accounting, cybersecurity and governmental. Each project will involve setting up core template styles which are then rolled out onto e-learning content pieces, which also involves a bulk of diagram, infographic, icon and illustration work.
Scope
Editorial design, Icon design, Illustration, Infographics, Presentation design, Style guide development, Templating
Included in my scope of work is implementing consistency across Obrizum’s own brand assets since the practice’s recent rebrand.
Illustrations will frequently need to be designed with animation potential in mind, brought to life by Obrizum’s in-house creative team.
Design takeaways
Adaptability and versatility. Working with a client like Obrizum has helped me become a more versatile designer, able to adjust my thinking and process to meet different client expectations. I’m able to confidently shift between different visual styles when needed, design seamlessly across platforms and channels, respond constructively to feedback and stay current with trends without losing my design fundamentals.
Honing my illustration and iconography skills. Many of Obrizum’s clients will require visual assets to help make their e-learning material more accessible, including infographics and diagrams. As part of this, I have continued honing skills in illustration and icon design, becoming much more able to quickly produce these in a variety of complex styles which feel appropriate to a client’s brand guidelines. Even if they don’t currently have illustration as a facet of their identities, they may be looking to inject a more human and friendly tone into their e-learning content, making illustration perfect.
