The challenge

Stephen Einhorn creates expressive and bold pieces – and wants their visual communications to follow suit.

The solution

Studio product photography and out of home advertising for the London Underground, during my time working as a graphic design intern with Stephen Einhorn in 2011 – my first role in industry which I undertook after finishing my first year at university. Other responsibilities I was tasked with included image retouching for jewellery collections, and printed brochure design.

Scope

Creative direction, Image retouching, Out of home / Billboard design, Print design, Product photography

The first image displays a jewelry advertisement with a necklace and rings, with the text "POP THE NEW COLLECTION" and the brand name "Stephen Einhorn." The second image shows a craftsman working on an ornate gold ring, meticulously engraving it with a fine tool. The third image depicts a jewelry workshop with rings and tools lying on a wooden surface, including a bench pin, pliers, and small rocks.

Design takeaways

  • Great exposure to the world of in-house design. Working with Stephen Einhorn contributed to setting the tone for most of my career, choosing the in-house design pathway. Experiences like these have taught me so much about branding from the inside out: learning from a founder’s story, growing with a small and tight-knit team, and being extremely hands-on allowing me to nurture many creative skills even beyond traditional graphic design ones.
