Creative Process

  • With each brief, I follow a straightforward four-step design process: discovery, strategy, design and delivery. You can find out more about it here, and don’t forget to check out my portfolio pieces to read more about how I approached each design challenge presented to me, as well as my design takeaways.

  • I typically use a combination of Adobe CC (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Canva, CapCut and Figma depending on the brief. I am flexible and happy to work across different tools (including productivity software like Notion or Slack) to best meet the needs of your team.

  • It really does depend on the project! Smaller, one-off tasks can take a half day or under to deliver (excluding any time spent during discovery calls or briefing sessions) up to 1-2 weeks for larger projects such as brand identity or longer-term work. I am also available for retainer projects, these typically carry on for months at a time.

  • During an initial discovery or briefing call with a new client, we’ll have an informal chat about your project needs and how I might be able to help. We’ll narrow down your specific commercial goals and match these to design deliverables. It’s always helpful when clients share as much detail about their brand as they can before I get started on any design work – style guide, image and video library, copy and other content, as well as existing research and understanding of user needs, demographics, and what they’re hoping to achieve by working together with me (i.e. improve conversion, push editorial and storytelling angles, or create more informative visuals).

  • My process is an iterative and collaborative one, where clients are invited to review designs before final delivery and within the agreed timeframes of a project. However I am also confident with leading a project independently, so there is no pressure to be involved until delivery if this is how you would prefer to work!

  • Number of revisions is agreed upon before a project begins. Usually, no more than 2-3 rounds of revisions are needed before a design task is signed off.

  • Yes, I offer rush projects but these are subject to rush or weekend fees. Please get in touch to find out more.

  • Yes, commissions are open :) Get in touch with me at hello@chromakane.com or by filling out this contact form sharing as much detail as you can about your commission or partnership request.

  • Please note that we aren’t a tattoo studio, but would love to hear about your request! Get in touch at hello@chromakane.com if you’d like to find out more about our tattooing policy and commissions, including releasing any Chromakane artwork as a higher resolution flash file for your own tattoo artist.

Pricing & Handover

  • Pricing is typically tailored to each project. I offer flexible half/full day rates, as well as fixed project fees – across the board, deliverables, revisions and turnaround time are agreed at the start for full transparency. Payment plans are also offered. If you’d like to enquire about a tailored quote, please get in touch.

  • Deposits are not required for one-off projects. I will however require 50% upfront payment for wider scope projects, such as brand identity work or larger deliverables. Long-term retainers are agreed upon individually: either to be invoiced monthly or settled by direct debit depending on the client’s preferred method.

  • Final deliverables will include final exports, as well as early iterations if requested by the client. If requested by the client, final deliverables will also include source files at no added cost, with the exception of reusable design templates unless previously agreed with Chromakane.
