FAQ

Chromakane is committed to conscious design – opting for sustainable, ethical and archival quality at every step of the way. Find out more below. If you have a query which remains unanswered, please get in touch at hello@chromakane.com

Artist ethos & creative process

  • Chromakane is the creative practice of Jessie Cohen, a multidisciplinary designer and visual artist. Jessie has been in the design industry for over 12 years, and launched Chromakane as an art studio in 2020. Currently, Chromakane is based in the UK.

  • To create each collection, Chromakane relies on on-demand production for open edition products, or unique/small print runs for original or limited products. Chromakane aims to keep production as low footprint and transparent as possible, working with trusted local suppliers. Our products also undergo a rigorous in-house quality check process before bring signed, packed and shipped. We’ll also always prioritise the most sustainable and protective packaging possible, choosing FSC certified options which are recycled, recyclable and/or compostable even down to the plastic sleeves.

  • Yes, commissions are open! Get in touch with Chromakane at hello@chromakane.com or by filling out this form to find out more.

  • We aren’t currently hiring, but we’re always keen to work with creatives on exciting new projects. We’d love to explore new content ideas, which inspire our collectors and connects the dots between creativity, collaboration and mental wellbeing. So please do reach out if this sounds interesting!

  • Please note that we aren’t a tattoo studio, but would love to hear about your request! Get in touch at hello@chromakane.com if you’d like to find out more about our tattooing policy and commissions, including releasing any Chromakane artwork as a higher resolution flash file for your own tattoo artist.

  • Everything is conceptualised and designed in-house by Jessie Cohen, the artist behind Chromakane.

The shop now operates on an on-demand production basis, which helps us remain sustainably low waste. Art prints and home decor items are produced with our trusted local partners, all UK-based, using the highest quality reproduction techniques and materials (i.e. archival giclée paper for prints).

Before being signed, packed and shipped, each order also undergoes an in-house quality check by the artist.
